     Born in Cuba, Margarita Jourgensen(MarJour) is proud of her

 Spanish and Dutch ancestry,

     Margarita came to America with her parents and lived in Chicago

where she met and married her husband Ed.

     His job offered worldwide travel opportunities ,allowing Margarita

to visit museums and galleries around the World.Margarita's favorite

is the "Prado Museum" in Madrid, Spain with its contemporary artists

buildings, including Picasso,

    The more art museums and galleries she visited, the more she knew

she wanted to become an artist to have the ability to express herself

and her multiple concerns through bold color, forms and lines.

     Margarita is not afraid to share her joy, emotions, contagious

enthusiasm and changing moods with you through her painting and

 3-D collages.

     After returning from Europe, Margarita settled in Colorado and

studied ceramics, batik, acrylic painting and photography at

Colorado Mountain College. During this period she studied

with  with several artists in the Southwest area.

     In 1984 Margarita moved to Florida and continued to study and

develop her artistic vision in addition to painting she created collaged

pottery and papier-maché sculptures.

     She was one of the Artists selected  to create a Gator for the Gators

Galore that were displayed throughout Palm Beach County.

     She was also featured in the" Best of City Link" and created one of

the Playbill cover for Kravis Center

     She also created several posters for different events throughout the

United States.

     Her work have been exhibited and won many award in exhibits

throughout South Florida and many reside in private collections

in the U.S.A and Europe.

     Most recently she embarked a new challenge using her knowledge

of digial photography.

     She combines digital photos, old computer parts, acrylic paints,

and other mixed medias to create her 3D collages.

     Margarita likes to build her paintings, she said, everything is

3 dimensional, nothing is flat.

Life is full of surprises....and so are her paintings.
